How To Start A Movie Business In Hollywood - Part 3

In the first 2 parts in this 3 part series we learned how to initially start your movie business in Hollywood and now it is time to really show you how to get on the Hollywood map for good. When you think of Hollywood what do you think of? I bet you are thinking of stars, great movies, great producers, and excellent directors, right? Well that is exactly where you will be going if you can do this last step in the 5 step process.

Release a hit

When it comes to making it in Hollywood you won't ever do so if you don't play your part in at least 1 hit movie. It doesn't matter if you were the star in the movie, the director of the movie, the writer or anything else. The only thing that matter is that if you weren't there to do your part the movie would have been completely different.

With that said, if you want your movie business to get on the map in Hollywood then you need release a hit. When I say hit I don't mean your first movie has to be as big as the Titanic was or something close to the Star Trek series but if you can create something anywhere close to one of those your legacy and your business will take off from there. Don't be afraid to take a risk on some films because you never know what will work and what won't. Something that I have learned is that any strategic risk is a profitable risk. What this means is that if you did your research and you know what needs to be done then you will profit from it at some point in time.

Releasing a hit isn't the easiest thing to do, but as long as you have the right people with you and the right knowledge of whatever it is you are doing you will be just fine. Don't think you can do everything yourself, if you only have a couple actors and actresses and a producer you might need to go out and get more in order to make the best movie possible. If you have ever seen the closing credits in a movie then you will understand now much actually goes into the making of the movie.

You would think that a movie that cost $50 million to make would sell for lot more than just $20 at the stores, but the thing you are missing is that studios release hundreds of thousand if not millions of copies of the film and each one has a huge profit margin. My estimate is that a studio will get roughly $19 per DVD they sell and who even more if the film is in blue ray.

If you can follow the steps from parts 1 through 3 you will have your movie business in Hollywood going in no time at all. Just remember that the best businesses are the ones that prove themselves time and time again, so get ready to prove what you have to offer.
