Starting a movies business in Hollywood is not the easiest thing to do, but if you follow these steps you will have an easier journey than you would if you simply put up a business with no plan or strategy.

In the first part of this 3 part article I talked about how important it is to have a producer on your side if you want to get your business of the ground. It is very important to have a skilled producer that knows what the industry is about and has been a part of some bigger films, this will ensure that you and your movie business team are not all rookies and just trying to create a path into the movie business.

Have a studio

Something that many people don't think about is whether or not they will have a studio and this can really make or break your movie business in Hollywood. If you have your very own studio you won't have to spend money renting another studio and you won't have to wait in line to use it, it will be all yours. Think about all the producers who are looking for studios to shoot from, while you are getting your first hit film together you can be renting out your studio making sure that your are still bringing in an income in order to pay your employees and the cost of the studio.

Knowing the importance of a studio is one thing, but knowing the many different ways you can make money with it is another. Don't just rent the studio out to other people, try to get involved in what others are doing and take a percentage in scripts you think have potential. People are always looking for ways to save money now and giving a percentage of the profits is a great way to do this.

Become friends with the big boys

When I say big boys I simply mean getting to know people who when you mention their name bring up a huge conversation. People like this are big time actors and actresses such as; Julia Roberts, Will Smith, Oprah Winfrey, Donald Trump, George Clooney, and Denzel Washington. Do you know what all these actors and actresses have in common? All these people know other big people and that is what will open a lot of doors for you.

When I say become friends I don't mean you need to be good enough friends to be invited over to ones house, but you do need to be known enough by them that they mention you every once and a while to their friends. The best way you can do this is to start a website and write nothing but great things about them and make sure they know who you are and that wrote it. Stars love things that help their reputation.
