If you have ever seen a big screen hit then I hope you understand all the work and time that has gone into making that movie happen and getting it on the HDTV Led at home. When it comes to making a movie that will rake in more than $100 million you have to have many things all done right and even then your movie could be a flop.
I have outlined 10 steps that you must follow in order to create a Hollywood hit.
1. Idea

2. Script
3. Initial presentation to studios
4. Financing
5. Casting
6. Film
7. Edit
8. Re-edit
9. Finalize
10. Final showing to studios
These are the 10 steps that you must go through in order to create a Hollywood film, if you miss or cut out any of these 10 steps you will be setting yourself up for a big disappointment.
Idea
The idea is the first and most important stage of creating a Hollywood film and for good reason too. If you don't have a Hollywood idea then there is no reason to move forward and try to get actors and shoot the film.
When it comes to your idea you need to be as clear as possible and give as much details as possible, the clearer you are with your idea the better your idea will play out on film. Just make sure you don't skip any important parts in your initial idea because if you don't have the clearest idea it will be almost impossible for a good screen writer to follow it up with a Hollywood piece. Make sure during your entire idea writing area that you have a writer in mind or a group of writers in mind that you want to follow you. If you don't have a writer in mind I would highly recommend finding one that you like.
During the entire process of writing your ideas down you need to also have a vision of what film company you will want to use. So many people think they are going to break into film without having a big network behind them and those people tend to take the tougher road. It is much easier to get a film from paper onto the big screen if you have someone like Lionsgate, or Paramount Pictures on your side.
Now that you have your idea down it is time to get your writer involved and get a world class script together. Remember once you have your idea and script you don't want to wait to get it out there, it is best to find a studio who will partner with you on your film and you will never be able to do that if you aren't actively searching for a studio.
Like I said there is more to creating a Hollywood hit than just shooting the movie, you need to take the next 9 steps. Because of this article having so much information in it I have broken it down into pieces to help you better understand it. Now that you know what needs to be incorporated into the idea you need to move onto steps 2-10 in the following parts.
